In response to application question 'Why should you be chosen for this award?' 'Ms. Blakley stated in part, "...As a new educator, I am in a better position to motivate nurses, enhance practice, and support other nurses through their med-surg practice. For the past four years, I have motivated and support several nurses to achieve their certification as a med-surg nurse. I have used the topics, resource, and best practices from the AMSN meetings and online resources to educate and change practice in my facility. In my non-profit organization, Nurses Rock, I motivate want-to-be nurses and graduate nurses on the achievements that nurses make at the bedside and in the community each day. I have never been to an AMSN Convention. I would proud to attend, gain the education and resources and bring that back to North Texas."
