Brighter Tomorrows Volunteer Training

Brighter Tomorrows, which provides shelter and support services to those affected by domestic violence or sexual abuse, is seeking individuals who are interested in training to become volunteers for the organization. Volunteers will complete training to prepare for various volunteer opportunities, including hotline calls to assist victims of domestic/sexual abuse. Training is provided.

The Turtle Creek Crawl

The Turtle Creek Association, which strives to enhance, preserve and protect the beauty and heritage of Dallas’ Turtle Creek, is looking for volunteers to help with a cleanup of Turtle Creek Park. Volunteers will pick up trash along the creek, while enjoying the spring weather and great company! Materials and refreshments provided.

Join the Club

Bridge Breast Network, which links low-income, uninsured and underinsured individuals to treatment services for breast cancer, is seeking volunteers for its annual charity golf tournament. Volunteers will serve as hole monitors, beverage cart attendants, photographers, auction assistants, greeters and other positions as necessary. Training is provided.

Old Red Museum Grand Opening

The Old Red Museum, which seeks to inspire and educate by showcasing the many cultures that have formed in Dallas County, is seeking volunteers for its grand opening celebration. Volunteers will help with the opening celebration by assisting with set-up and tear down of tables and chairs, greeting visitors, handing out programs, giving directions and others duties as necessary.

Operation Distribution

Housing Services Inc., which strives to improve the standard of living for low-income individuals, is looking for volunteers to assist with sorting, folding, bagging, boxing and distribution of donated goods. Volunteers will help in its warehouse by putting final products on shelves to prepare items for distribution.

Meals On Wheels

The Visiting Nurse Association Meals On Wheels is looking for volunteer drivers to deliver meals on wheels to homebound seniors and disabled persons with no other source of lunchtime food. Each route serves 12-14 homes and takes approximately 1.5 – 2 hours. Routes are available in all areas of Dallas County, and training is provided.

Horse Around

Equest, which provides riding therapy for children and adults with disabilities, is looking for volunteers to groom and tack horses, then assist riders during their one-hour class. Total time per shift would be 2 hours per week for 10 weeks. Training is provided.
